ABOUT

Dr. Laura Boyd Farmer, Ph.D., LPC is a counselor educator at Virginia Tech and licensed professional counselor in Roanoke, VA. She provides individual and group counseling to LGBTGEQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender expansive, queer/questioning) youth and adults. In addition to counseling, Dr. Farmer is a certified Qoya dance and movement instructor providing offerings to the community and to various organizations in the Roanoke Valley.  Her research focuses on affirmative counseling with LGBTGEQ persons. She is passionate about facilitating embodied healing experiences through Qoya-based movement, expressive arts, mindfulness, and other experiential practices.
